In this small-group altar workshop, you will create a one-of-a-kind ceramic altar using forms, templates, and design approaches developed in my studio. This is a guided, hands-on experience designed to help you make a piece that feels intentional, personal, and meant to live in your home.

We will work with specialty clays bodies selected for their rich texture and natural color. These materials are rarely accessible outside of professional studios and bring a quiet depth and presence to each piece.

Choose from my personal studio glazes, each selected to complement the clay bodies and enhance the surface without overpowering the material itself. I finish every piece with care after the workshop, honoring the form, surface, and intention behind each altar.

Throughout the workshop, I will guide you through:

  • Form building and composition using my original templates
  • Surface design and subtle detailing
  • Structural decisions that support both function and longevity
  • Refinement and finishing touches

You'll receive hands-on instruction, individualized feedback, and thoughtful guidance at each stage of the process. Pieces are professionally fired after the workshop and finished to highlight the natural beauty of the clay.

No prior clay experience is necessary. This workshop is ideal for beginners and returning students who want to create a meaningful object with care and intention.

Finished work will be ready for pickup in 5–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.

Community Supported Pricing

I believe access to creative spaces matters. A limited number of community supported spots may be available at a reduced rate for those who need it. If cost is a barrier, you are welcome to reach out directly to inquire about availability.
